Focus:
This project investigates the impact of cyber security on the decision-making process behind the adoption of new digital technologies in UK small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Goals:

  • To understand the impact of previous cyber security incidents on SMEs’ decision to invest in new digital technologies.

  • To understand the impact of SMEs’ current cyber security practices on the readiness to invest in new digital technologies.

  • To generate an original dataset on SMEs' decision-making process regarding the adoption of new digital technologies.

  • To create a policy guide targeted at policymakers outlining our main results and recommendations.

  • To create a good practice guide for the adoption of digital technologies in SMEs, targeted at managers and institutions.
