The barriers to and enablers of secure technology adoption

Goals:

  • Review the economic models for investment in digital security.

  • Develop and test new models that integrate economic modelling and human decision-making.

  • Develop and test new ways to measure and quantify digital security adoption costs and benefits on an individual organisation level and beyond.

  • Survey and segment relevant decision makers to understand how incentives and biases differ between groups.

  • Use experiments to look at social norms as a way of addressing the issues uncovered
